EASA issued a new NPA (Notice of Proposed Amendment) which includes new safety regulations for the operation of helicopters over water.
“Studies and investigations have shown, that the occupants hardly have a chance to escape of the helicopter during a water ditching”, explains Joachim Schanz, CEO SPAES GmbH & Co. KG.
In this context, working groups at EASA create new actions and requirements to enhance the safety for offshore operations. This NPA is provided to the stakeholders before it is implemented as a valid regulation.
