Installation of MD 302 Standby Attitude Module in an EC 120

We are delighted to announce the successful installation of the state-of-the-art MD 302 Standby Attitude Module on the RH side of the instrument panel of an EC 120 helicopter for one of its esteemed customers.

The MD 302 Standby Attitude Module is a groundbreaking avionics unit that provides essential flight information, including altitude, attitude, airspeed, slip indication, and optional heading data. Located strategically beneath an existing GDU 1060 unit, the MD 302 delivers vital real-time data, enhancing the safety and situational awareness of the aircraft and its crew.

The integration of the MD 302 with the GDU 1060 facilitates seamless communication and data exchange, ensuring accurate and reliable information is readily available to the flight crew. The advanced features of the MD 302 make it a vital addition to the EC 120’s avionics suite, further improving the helicopter’s operational capabilities.

To ensure a seamless installation process, SPAES equipped the MD 302 Standby Attitude Module with a specially designed doubler and secured it firmly with four high-quality screws. The complete mounting kit, including the doubler, rivets, and screws, was thoughtfully supplied with the MD 302 unit, streamlining the installation and reducing downtime for the customer.

“The successful installation of the MD 302 in the EC 120 marks another milestone for SPAES in our commitment to enhancing aviation safety and performance,” said Joachim Schanz, CEO of SPAES. “The MD 302’s advanced capabilities and seamless integration with the existing avionics suite underscore our dedication to delivering the highest standards of excellence to our customers.”

With this innovative upgrade, SPAES continues to demonstrate its expertise in avionics integration and its ability to tailor solutions to meet the specific needs of its clients. The company remains at the forefront of aviation technology, providing reliable and cutting-edge solutions to the global aerospace industry.
